This weekend Just Say Now is doing a huge push to call young voters about marijuana initiatives, primarily about Prop 19 to legalize marijuana in California. More than 2,000 people already pledged to make calls this weekend, and dozens of people have been consistently calling for the last several hours.
If you want Prop 19 pass, own a phone, and have a few minutes this weekend, please call young voters and help get out the vote for Prop 19.
The polls are close for each and every initiative. Prop 19 is almost at 50% in California; Arizona’s Prop 203 for medical marijuana is slightly above 50%; Oregon’s Measure 74 for medical marijuana dispensaries and South Dakota’s medical marijuana initiative, Measure 13, are both neck and neck.
We know for a fact that people between the ages of 18 and 29 are overwhelmingly likely to support marijuana reforms, and that they’re much more likely vote if they know that real people like you are cheering them on.
Right now, I’m at the Students for Sensible Drug Policy West Coast conference, where 75 students from California are learning about the latest drug policy, and of course, Prop 19. Tomorrow, all of us are going to pick up our phones and call thousands of young voters for Prop 19. We’d love to have you join us sometime this weekend.
If you’re lucky enough to be able to vote for these initiatives, or if you support these reforms but can’t vote in the states, this is your chance to bring new, young voters to the polls and shift momentum in favor of ending the war on marijuana.

Thanks, Michael — looking forward to your reports from the conference!
Fantastic tool
I know this is wildly off-topic, but there are times when I log on to FDL, and right now was one of them, when I get all emotional, teary-eyed and thank my lucky stars that such an organization exists. I’ve been without gainful employment for a long time and this blog has been a home for me while at home. I wish I owned property along a super highway or interstate and if I did I’d plant bushes, flowers or use rocks, tires or whatever to spell out the name F I R E D O G L A K E . C O M so that the 40 thousand passerbys each day would see it and maybe log on, and hopefully someone reading this that owns property along a busy highway will do the same.
I’ve made 15 calls today at Just say Now.
Tangentially related: organizing for America is trying for a million calls today. So far 837,000+ calls.
It’s difficult for me to reconcile a grassroots enthusiasm gap and a campaign that’s averaging over 1000 calls a minute since 8:00 AM EDT.
I’m not using OFA for GOTV for candidates – making calls for Feingold, Sestak, Grayson and Grijalva with the PCCC phone bank. I don’t think calls via PCCC get counted in the OFA total.
My calls through the election will be roughly 2 candidate calls for 1 Prop 19 call.
I am most concerned about Feingold and Grayson among the 4 candidates for whom I’m doing GOTV work.
