Well the returns are in. The Liberal left coast and the neo-fascist cesspool of AZ are all on board with legalizing weed. What better example of 'bipartisanship' does BO want?

What will be the tipping point? Several more states with initiatives are likely to legalize in the 2014 and 2016 elections and in states without an initiative process there appear to be several state legislatures which might pass laws to legalizes. The feds may try cracking down in some areas on the CO and WA laws but if another 6-10 states legalize in the next four years, the fed's ability to respond will be limited. Especially if a state like CA is among those joining the sane drug process.

Since when do our Rulers in DC listen to the Will Of The People? These state laws will reduce local prosecution for minor pot posession but the Feds will crush anyone who grows pot or hemp on a large scale.

This is really just about money, the bankrupt states want their tax cut of the underground pot market while much of law inforcement and the Prison Imdustrial Complex want their share of the War On Drugs luker.

That is the total strategy right now of those who serve the One Percent. Jan16th 2013, The C Span "forum" on marijuana legalization showed us that the Powers that Be really know how to pack the forums where these matters are discussed. Not one person from an org like NORML was represented. And among the "new memes" out there - as the voters "stupidly" approve of med marijuana and plain old marijuana, those voters enable the Narco Terrorists - who have been known to own a dispensary or two. (Or so the GateKeepers on these forums tell us.)

No mention of how the Narco Terrorists have much more power if the substance is kept totally illegal. No mention at all...

Nor is there much mention of how it is to the advantage of the Big Financial Firms to keep the substance illegal. We see through looking over the HSBC scandal that the Big Banks launder the drug money. And those firms are too big to harass legally - so they will continue to use their 49 cents out of every dollar of profit generated inside the USA to keep marijuana illegal.

The point I take from that poll is only 30% of people feel "strongly" against. IMO its the same 30% who think Iraq had WMDs and Bush was a great prez, etc.

I am not familiar with how Alcohol is regulated in Arizona but I think the states policies there also play a role in overall voter attitudes.

I heard yesterday that Gov. Martinez (NM) has packed the medical license review board with people who are yanking medical licenses in NM if doctors dare to prescribe marijuana.

I guess this is one way to undermine the whole medical mj practise.
