Oregon – Measure 74

Voters in Oregon will decide whether or not to provide terminally ill patients with safer, easier access to medical marijuana at the ballot box this November. If passed, Measure 74 will provide for licensing, background checks and proper zoning for nonprofit dispensaries and allow safe, organized access to medical marijuana for the terminally ill.

Measure 74 will organize and regulate nonprofit medical marijuana dispensaries much like pharmacies in order to ensure for the safety of patients as well as the community. Measure 74 also taxes medical marijuana programs, providing as much as an estimated $20 million in the first year for Oregon health programs. Not to mention, Measure 74 also provides funding for research of the effectives of medical marijuana, and will create quality control standards for the industry.
