South Dakota – Measure 13
Measure 13 will create a controlled program in the Department of Health for patients suffering from cancer, MS, and other serious illnesses and diseases that will allow them to pursue a safe, legal option when their physician recommends medical marijuana as the most effective regiment for their symptoms.
Patients are demanding a safe option so they don’t have to get their medicine from the black market, and measure 13 was designed so that medical marijuana is limited only to those who face debilitating and painful illnesses. No dispensaries, stores, and no ‘sale’ of any marijuana is allowed – patients and caretakers may only cultivate a limited amount in accordance with the program’s restrictions.
